The finale of The Ultimate Fighter Season 10 featured two quarterfinals and two semifinals.
Semifinal: Roy Nelson vs. James McSweeney
Nelson fired the first salvo and gave McSweeney little time to measure him with punches or kicks.
Through one minute Nelson had delivered and connected with more shots. Nelson got McSweeney against the fence, but McSweeney defended with a guillotine. The action moved to the middle of the Octagon.
McSweeney began to find a rhythm, daring Nelson to hit him in the chin. Nelson then clocked McSweeney with a stiff right hand that rattled the opponent. Nelson saw blood and picked up McSweeney, slammed him hard moved into side control.
Nelson got McSweeney into the crucifix position and pounded away at his head, the same way he did in beating Kimbo Slice. The magic number was 22 straight blows to McSweeney’s head before Steve Mazzagatti called it off with 49 seconds left in the first round.
Nelson will fight Saturday in Las Vegas in the finale against the winner of the fight between Brendan Schaub and Marcus Jones.
"Good job, Roy, you finally impressed me," Dana White said.
