UFC star Chael Sonnen calls out unnamed MMA writer (Video)

According to a March 4 post from Bleacher Report, UFC star Chael Sonnen has a serious "beef," and it's not with any fellow pugilist.

Sonnen, 35, has taken to Twitter to express his anger at an MMA writer, but he left everyone guessing by not telling the world who the vitriol is directed at, or exactly what may have set him off.

The "Gangster from West Linn," who fights Jon Jones on Apr. 27 at UFC 159 in New Jersey, has made over a dozen comments on Twitter since the calendar turned to March, and most of them have been shocking words of criticism towards one particular MMA journalist.

"You aren't fooling the REAL MMA Press, and you're not fooling the fans. You are a BUM," Sonnen tweeted on March 4.

But that was just the beginning of his epic rant.

"The fans reject you to your own little online purgatory where you belong. You are denied credentials because you have no credibility," Sonnen continued from his official Twitter handle. "You're sitting there in the dark praying to whatever false God that fake journalists pray to hoping I won't name you."

Looking deeper into the issue, it remained unclear to almost everyone exactly who Sonnen was calling out for bad journalism.

There haven't been many controversial stories about Sonnen posted within the past week, so it seems he was angered about an article written about another fighter.

The next time someone thinks Sonnen is just saying wacky things to get a reaction, chances are they are absolutely right. He doesn't seem to mind though, because the extra exposure is helping him rake in the big bucks from pay-per-views and sponsorships.

No press is bad press, especially in Sonnen's world.
