UFC standout Cung Le upset at MMA fans who called for his retirement

According to a Nov. 15 report from MMA Mania, UFC standout contender Cung Le is upset that some MMA fans called for his retirement following a recent loss to Wanderlei Silva.

Le was knocked out by Silva at UFC 139, but he bounced back with convincing victories over Patrick Cote and Rich Franklin.

"That really upsets me," Le said. "I mean, a lot of people said that I should have retired after Wanderlei Silva, but if I would have taken everyone's advice and retired, then they wouldn't have had two more great fights against Patrick Cote and Rich Franklin."

Le, 40, shocked the world by earning back-to-back upset wins over Cote and Franklin. Le is now a legitimate contender in the UFC's middleweight division.

"I think people should keep their opinions to themselves and let the fighters decide their own careers," Le added. "It's the fighters that step in that Octagon to entertain everyone. We, as fighters, come to put it all on the line and fight our hearts out, and people should respect that, and keep their comments to themselves."
