Enjoy the predictions and UFC on Fox 9 fight card.

Online Prelims: 1-0-0

125 lbs. – Darren Uyenoyama (2-1 UFC) vs. Alptekin Ozkilic (0-0 UFC) – Ozkilic via TKO
Ozkilic will have a serious striking advantage with his speed and power and he also has solid defense and good grappling. Uyenoyama will look to use his grappling but will likely struggle to get takedowns. Correct (Ozkilic via decision)

Fox Sports Prelims: 4-2-0

155 lbs. – Abel Trujillo (1-1(1) UFC) vs. Roger Bowling (0-1(1) UFC) – Trujillo via TKO
These men fought back in August, but Trujillo landed an illegal knee resulting in a no contest. Trujillo was winning the striking exchanges and stuffing takedowns before the illegal shot stopped the fight. Correct plus method

155 lbs. – Sam Stout (8-8 UFC) vs. Cody McKenzie (3-3 UFC) – Stout via decision
Stout is a much more technical striker and will land many more strikes. Stout should also be able to stuff the majority, if not all, of McKenzie’s takedown attempts. Correct plus method

125 lbs. – Scott Jorgensen (3-3 UFC) vs. Zach Makovsky (0-0 UFC) – Jorgensen via submission
Jorgensen will have a striking advantage, but both men are strong wrestlers and may look to test their ground skills. Jorgensen should be the stronger wrestler and may look for the rear naked choke. Wrong - Makovsky via decision

155 lbs. – Bobby Green (2-0 UFC) vs. Pat Healy (0-2(1) UFC) – Green via decision
Green is fighting very well right now and Healy’s grinding grappling style looks like an easy matchup. Green will have a slight striking advantage and will be very aggressive during grappling battles. Correct plus method

155 lbs. – Edson Barboza (6-1 UFC) vs. Danny Castillo (6-2 UFC) – Barboza via TKO
Barboza will have a serious striking advantage, especially with his kicks. Castillo may look to use his wrestling to get the win, but Barboza has great takedown defense and solid grappling skill. Correct (Barboza via decision)

170 lbs. – Court McGee (5-2 UFC) vs. Ryan LaFlare (2-0 UFC) – McGee via decision
LaFlare likes to use a grinding style, much like Pat Healy, but McGee has good takedown defense and grappling skill. If this fight stays standing McGee will have the advantage with his technical boxing. Wrong - LaFlare via decision

Main Card: 4-0-0 Total MMA Predictions: 395-218-2 = 64%

155 lbs. – Joe Lauzon (9-6 UFC) vs. Mac Danzig (5-7 UFC) - Lauzon via TKO
Both fighters are on 2 fight losing streaks and looking to get back on track. Lauzon has solid boxing skill and excellent grappling, but it’s when he fights very aggressive that he becomes truly dangerous. Danzig has good technical boxing and decent grappling, but he lacks the same speed and power as Lauzon. On the feet Lauzon will have a striking advantage and will definitely test the chin of Danzig. Lauzon should be able to stuff Danzig’s takedowns while getting a few of his own and landing some g&p while looking for submissions. Lauzon is a much better fighter then Danzig and will get the finish either striking or on the ground. Correct (Lauzon via decision)

145 lbs. – Chad Mendes (6-1 UFC) vs. Nik Lentz (8-2-1(1) UFC) - Mendes via TKO
Mendes would be undefeated if not for Champion Jose Also, so he’ll look to continue his dominant 4 fight win steak (4 TKO’s) and get back to a title fight. Lentz has been on a role since dropping down to Featherweight by winning all 3 fights with solid performances. On the feet Mendes will have the speed, technique and likely the power advantage over Lentz. Both fighters are wrestlers, but Mendes will likely dictate the ground game and try to take Lentz out of his comfort zone. Lentz will make a fight of it, but Mendes is much too dominant a fighter and should get the finish. Correct (Mendes via decision)

135 lbs. – Urijah Faber (5-2 UFC) vs. Michael McDonald (5-1 UFC) - Faber via decision
Faber is on a 3 fight win streak since losing his interim title fight to Renan Barao via decision. McDonald also lost interim title fight to Barao via submission, but bounced back in his last fight and submitted Brad Pickett. On the feet it should be fairly even between McDonald’s powerful punches and Faber’s solid boxing, but expect McDonald to land the more powerful punches. Faber will certainly try to make this a grappling match though and should succeed in some takedowns or taking McDonald’s back. McDonald has the tools to win this fight, but Faber is such a strong grappler at Bantamweight that it should cause problems for McDonald. Correct (Faber via submission)

125 lbs. – (C) Demetrious Johnson (6-1-1 UFC) vs. Joseph Benavidez (6-1 UFC) - Johnson via decision
Johnson will look to defend his Flyweight title for the 3rd straight time since winning the title against Benavidez via split decision in the UFC Flyweight tournament. Benavidez has gone 3-0 since losing that fight and will be trying to prove that the judges got it wrong the first fight. On the feet Johnson will look to use his footwork and speed to out-point Benavidez, but Benavidez is also very fast and he has great technique as well as KO power. Johnson will also look to mix in his wrestling and should be able to secure more takedowns then Benavidez. This fight will go much like the first as both men are very equal in skill sets, but Johnson is the champion for a reason and will edge out another win. Correct (Johnson via KO)
