UFC on FOX 6's Donald Cerrone amped to finally fight Anthony Pettis (Video)

According to a Jan. 24 report from MMA Junkie, UFC on FOX 6's Donald Cerrone is amped to finally have the opportunity to fight Anthony Pettis.

Cerrone and Pettis were supposed to fight several times over the past few years, but the latter wasn't fully healed until recently.

"Our managers were trying to work it out back in the WEC days," Cerrone said of fighting Pettis. "And when he came (to the UFC) to fight Clay (Guida), I was trying to rally for that fight. The Melvin (Guillard) fight, I was supposed to fight him there, but his shoulder got hurt. There was just a lot of spots along the way it was supposed to happen and it just never happened. Was it because of him ducking me? That could just be me talking s---. With him being injured, it's just the way it is. But now here we are."

Cerrone and Pettis are set to fight on Jan. 26 at the UFC on FOX 6 event slated for Chicago.

"I'm going to go out there and fight my ass off. That's just what I do," Cerrone said. "The pressure and the hype of a fight doesn't matter to me. Me getting a 'W' and going out there and fighting the style I do, it's an exciting style. I just go in your face and nonstop. As far as living up to the hype, I hope Anthony lives up to the hype. I plan on going out there with everything I've got and saving nothing."

The winner of Cerrone vs Pettis may end up fighting the winner of the Benson Henderson vs Gilbert Melendez match that is slated for mid-2013.
