On Saturday, January 26th, the UFC returned to Chicago for it's 6th event on Fox for the flyweight championship bout between current champion Demetrious Johnson and John Dodson. The card was very stacked and also featured the potential last fight of "Rampage" Jackson's career in the UFC as he faced rising star Glover Teixeira. Anthony Pettis and "Cowboy" Cerrone faced off in a lightweight contender bout. There were a total of 11 fights: one that streamed live on Facebook, 6 prelims on FX, and the 4 fight main card on Fox. There were a total of 6 finishes: 4 by KO/TKO and 2 submissions. The card was full with many big names in the UFC and here are the results:
David Mitchell and Simeon Thoresen put on a show in a great display of MMA with Mitchell winning by unanimous decision.
Rafael Natal used his superior BJJ to submit Sean Spencer in the 3rd round by an arm triangle.
Shawn Jordan over comes a beating in the 1st round to beat Mike Russow by TKO in the 2nd.
Ryan Bader drops Matyushenko with a left hand and locks in a guillotine choke in the 1st round forcing him to tap. This is the fastest submission victory in the UFC light heavyweight division.
Pascal Krauss and Mike Strumpf went to war in a 3 round stand up battle with Krauss winning by unanimous decision.
Clay Guida squeaks out a split decision win over Hatsu Hioki in his featherweight debut.
TJ Grant rocked Matt Wiman with some vicious elbows, which drops him and then pounces to earn a 1st round KO victory.
Ricardo Lamas took advantage of Erik Koch making a mistake in the 2nd round to pounce on him and landed some brutal ground and pound to earn a TKO victory.
Anthony Pettis put on a striking clinic has he managed to drop "Cowboy" Cerron with a body kick and then pounced on him, causing the ref to call the fight. Pettis earned a 1st round TKO victory.
Glover Teixeira and "Rampage" Jackson stood toe to toe in a 3 round brawl with Teixeira winning by unanimous decision.
Demetrious Johnson overcomes being rocked early and used his superior grappling to pull off a unanimous decision victory over John Dodson, and remains the flyweight champion.
