According to an April 19 report from CagePotato.com, the results are in from the UFC on FOX 11 card that went down at the Amway Center in Orlando. The UFC on FOX 11 main card featured plenty of exciting action, including some controversy regarding the judges' decision in the co-main tilt between Liz Carmouche and Miesha Tate.
Carmouche clearly won the first round against Tate, but the third frame went to the Washington native. The decision clearly came down to the action that went down in the second stanza. Carmouche had several takedowns in the second round, but she didn't do much with it.
As for Tate, she worked for a guillotine choke as time wound down in the second round. Tate walked away with the victory, but hundreds of UFC fans took to Twitter and Facebook to express their displeasure with the decision. Many MMA fans felt Carmouche was the rightful winner of the fight.
Was Carmouche robbed of a legitimate victory? That all depends who you ask, but its clear her camp was frustrated at the decision. Carmouche's coach, Manolo Hernandez, was seen on the UFC on FOX 11 telecast yelling in frustration after the decision was read.
Tate now moves into bantamweight title contention, but Carmouche remains in the mix as well. Tate earned her first official UFC victory. However, Carmouche proved she's a top threat in the UFC's 135-pound division. In the UFC on FOX 11 main event, Travis Browne met Fabricio Werdum.
A title shot against Cain Velasquez was what was on the line in the clash between Browne and Werdum. Browne landed some decent shots in the opening frame, but he appeared to gas out in the second round. Werdum seemed to be the fresher man in the third frame, while Browne continued to fade.
There was lots of showmanship that went down in the Browne vs Werdum fight, as the Brazilian spent plenty of time taunting his opponent. Heading into the fourth round of the UFC on FOX 11 main event, Werdum still appeared to be fresh and ready to go.
