TNA Impact Wrestling was looking at brining in a host of MMA names to bolster their reputation. Three of those names were King Mo, Tito Ortiz and Quinton “Rampage” Jackson. Former UFC champions Jackson and Ortiz were thrown right into a war between the Main Event Mafia and the Aces and Eights. However, after a short time, Jackson was gone. PWS reported on Thursday that Jackson said that he will never return to TNA Impact Wrestling after that experience.
The entire gimmick saw Rampage Jackson standing alongside the Main Event Mafia against Bully Ray and the Aces and Eights. It looked like Tito Ortiz was also going to join his side, but Ortiz betrayed Jackson and joined Aces and Eights. The feud was getting underway and it even was going to lead to an MMA match that ended up cancelled when Ortiz was injured.
However, things stalled and Jackson disappeared from action. While it was thought that the injuries might be the reason, there turned out to be something else to Jackson ducking out on TNA Impact Wrestling. The former UFC star said in the interview that he wanted to join TNA Impact Wrestling as a professional wrestler and fight guys like Kurt Angle. Jackson said that TNA Impact Wrestling only wanted him to wrestle other MMA fighters and he wasn’t interested in that.
Rampage Jackson also said in the interview that he saw how poorly things were being run in TNA Impact Wrestling and realized that he wanted no part of that environment. Jackson said that the writing was on the wall and it was clear that hard times were coming. Finally, at the end of the interview, Jackson said that he would never, ever, return to TNA Impact Wrestling and fans would never see him in a TNA Impact Wrestling ring again.
