The new free DLC for Electronic Arts’ UFC game on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox One includes three new fighters and various gameplay fixes.
The DLC includes Bantamweight Champion TJ Dillashaw, as well as Bantamweight Takeya Mizugaki and Welterweight Tyron Woodley as new playable fighters, added to the roster that already includes 97 fighters including Martial Arts legend bruce Lee and UFC legend Royce Gracie.
The DLC also adds a host of gameplay additions and fixes that have an ability to change the gameplay experience.
Among the small changes include the ability to touch gloves (by pressing L2 on PS4 or LT on Xbox One) with your opponent before the beginning of a fight, round and anytime the referee stands the fighters up. Using the L3 button, players can also now break out of a clinch when pressed up against the cage. EA has also removed “Power Takedowns” and “Sweeps” from fighters who “normally would not have them.” Speaking of Power Takedowns and Sweeps, defending fighters will sprawl when defending a takedown, while dominant fighters in full guard will have a longer window to reverse a sweep into the mount position.
Of the cooler and more influential gameplay additions is the new “Finish the Fight” option, which allows the attacker to hit a few extra strikes on their downed and stunned opponent to quickly end the bout. Fighters will also no longer be able to regenerate stamina while blocking and will take a bigger stamina loss if hit while blocking.
