Known as the Renegade, Gibson lives in Visalia, California and trains at Elite MMA, a gym that features multiple fighters from the UFC and Bellator MMA.

Recently Gibson took time from his training schedule to help raise funds and awareness for The Creative Center, a non-profit in Gibson’s hometown that helps adults with developmental disabilities.

Performing arts director from The Creative Center Rosalinda Verde invited Gibson to star in their latest you tube video. The series of videos are used to raise awareness for The Creative Center and also showcase the acting skills of participants that attend the program.

“I am a big fan of Cody Gibson and I know he has a huge following in Visalia,” said Rosalinda Verde. “When I heard we needed a thug for our video, we thought it would be a great idea to feature someone from the community that could help us promote our vision here at The Creative Center. What better person to get into a fight with than the Renegade!”

Although Gibson played a villain in the video, it was all for charity, the UFC welterweight contender is far from a bad guy. It is common for Gibson to spend time talking with students about the importance of education, advocating for community members with disabilities or simply using his platform as a popular professional athlete to bring about attention to important causes in the community.

“This comes from my parents,” stated Gibson, “they instilled that level of humility in me and now giving back to the community is what I live for.”

When asked about getting roughed up by some of the actors from The Creative Center Gibson laughed and said, “They hit harder then several guys I know.”
