According to a Jan. 3 report from MMA Junkie, UFC Fight Night 34 headliners Tarec Saffiedine (14-3) and Hyun Gyu Lim (12-3-1) both were on the mark for their contracted weight requirements.

Saffiedine, 27, weighed in at 170 pounds, while his opponent tipped the scales at 171 pounds.

Their UFC Fight Night 34 headlining bout, which goes down at the Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore, was scheduled to be fought at 170 pounds, and the fighters were allowed to weigh up to one pound over the limit.

Lim does not face any penalty for weighing in at 171, since he had the one pound extra maximum to work with.

“His guard is really low,” Saffiedine said of his opponent. “He’s not afraid of getting punched, I guess. I think it can be a strong point, but also a weak point. And I don’t know if he can go five rounds. We’ll see how his cardio is.”

Saffiedine was slated to fight Jake Ellenberger, but Lim got the call when "The Juggernaut" went down with an injury.

“Obviously, I was really excited to fight Jake,” Saffiedine said. “Jake is a big name, and I think it would have been a great fight. But I don’t underestimate Lim, and I’m excited to face somebody like him.

“I think if you look at it another way, like, every win in the UFC is a step forward,” he later added. “And Lim is a good fighter. Even though he’s unknown, he’s a good fighter, and I believe a win over him puts me back on top.”

Also on the UFC Fight Night 34 main card, Tatsuya Kawajiri (145) fights Sean Soriano (145), and Luiz Dutra (171) battles Kiichi Kunimoto (171).

All fighters on the UFC Fight Night 34 card made weight without issue.
