According to a Dec. 6 report from MMA Junkie, tonight’s UFC Fight Night 33 event, which features a heavyweight headliner between Mark Hunt and recent title challenger Antonio "Bigfoot" Silva, is underway from Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Brisbane, Australia.

UFC Fight Night 33 opened with a bout between Alex Garcia (11-1 MMA, 1-0 UFC) and Ben Wall (7-1-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC), a Brisbane native.

Despite overwhelming support from the hometown crowd, Wall's night ended in a hurry as he was floored by an uppercut in the opening frame.

The official stoppage came at the 43-second mark of the first round, as Garcia knocked out Wall.

In the second fight of UFC Fight Night 33, Krzysztof Jotko (13-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) squared off against Bruno Santos (13-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC).

Santos opened with a solid opening round, but Jotko rebounded with a nice second frame to even the scoring at 1-all.

Santos came on strong towards the end of the second frame and he looked to continue the onslaught when the third round opened.

The Brazilian finished a gorgeous double-leg takedown with 3:20 remaining in the final frame and then worked some vicious ground-and-pound from top position.

Santos worked for a rear-naked choke with under two minutes to go in the opening round, but Jotko gained top position, postured up and worked for the finish.

Jotko, who was making his UFC debut, would end up the winner via judge's decision

Later on the UFC Fight Night 33 preliminary card, Justin Scoggins (7-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) battles Richie Vaculik (9-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) in a key tilt for UFC glory.

In the UFC Fight Night 33 headliner, Silva will look to utilize his Brazilian jiu-jitsu game to notch a victory over Hunt.

"He’s a striker with a huge experience, did some great fights at K-1, so the perfect way to win this fight would obviously be using my jiu-jitsu," Silva told "I’ve trained a lot of jiu-jitsu and wrestling, but I also worked on my striking game. The fight starts standing and I have to be prepared for everything.

"If I see some openings to end the fight standing, I will. I’ve always did great against strikers, like Alistair Overeem, Travis Browne, Fedor Emelianenko. I’ll go for the knockout if I have the opportunity, but taking him to the ground will be my game plan."

In the UFC Fight Night 33 co-main, Mauricio "Shogun" Rua looks to snap a two-fight losing skid against hard-hitting knockout artist James Te Huna.
