According to a June 14 report from the Los Angeles Times, the results are in from the UFC 174: Demetrious Johnson vs. Ali Bagautinov card held this weekend in Vancouver. The event, which went down June 14 at Rogers Arena, featured several exciting finishes, including a knockout win from Tae Hyun Bang and a submission victory by Ovince St. Preux, who won with a gorgeous kimura in the second frame of action. However, the fight UFC fans will be talking about for a long time was the UFC 174 co-main between Tyron Woodley and Rory MacDonald.

A title shot against Johny Hendricks was on the line in the UFC 174 co-main, and both men knew exactly what was at stake. Despite facing one of the better wrestlers in the division, MacDonald rose to the occasion by turning in one of his better striking performances. The 24-year-old absolutely imposed his will throughout the 15-minute affair, battering Woodley with kicks and punches to the body.

MacDonald took home a unanimous decision victory, to solidify his place as the top contender in the UFC's welterweight division. With the victory, MacDonald earns a title shot against Johny Hendricks. That fight will likely happen in December, at the UFC's year-end card. No word yet on what's next for Woodley, but he likely remains a top 10 contender at welterweight.

Elsewhere on the UFC 174 main card, Andrei Arlovski made his grand return to the UFC cage by smashing perennial title contender Brendan Schaub, who had been riding a two-fight win streak. Arlovski, 35, turned back the clock with a vintage performance that included solid combos and excellent footwork. Arlovski absolutely moved into the top 10 in the world at heavyweight with a win over Schaub, and many UFC fans were calling for the promotion to sign Tim Sylvia immediately after the win by the Belarusian.

Also on the UFC 174 main card, Ryan Bader moved back into light heavyweight title contention with a win over Rafael Cavalcante. Bader left the judges no doubt who the better man was, as he took home a unanimous decision victory. What's next for Bader following his win at UFC 174? That's an interesting question that the UFC will need to think long and hard about.

Bader, 31, has already lost to several of the top contenders at light heavyweight, including Lyoto Machida and Jon Jones. Perhaps he could move down a weight class. Otherwise, it's looking like he still might be a gatekeeper at 205 pounds. Opening the UFC 174 main card, Ovince St. Preux notched the card's sole victory via kimura. The finish came at the 2:10 mark of the second round.

In the UFC 174 main card, Johnson put his title on the line against Bagautinov. Johnson is perhaps the fastest athletes in the UFC, but Bagautinov is a hard-hitter with serious one-punch power. The winner of the Johnson vs. Bagautinov scrap will likely fight John Dodson later this year.
