UFC 170: Sara McMann vs Ronda Rousey preliminary card results

According to a Feb. 22 report from Inquisitr, UFC 170: Rousey vs McMann opens with a stacked preliminary card that includes a key bantamweight tilt between perennial 135-pound contenders Jessica "Evil" Eye and Alexis Davis.

The winner of Eye vs Davis will likely receive the opportunity to fight the winner of the UFC 170 main event bout between Ronda Rousey and Sara McMann, some time in July or August.

Eye insists she won't call Rousey out if she wins. She thinks it'll happen if its meant to be.

“I don’t call people out,” Eye said. “I’m a firm believer that the right things happen at the right times. But hey, if (UFC President) Dana (White) wants me to fight (for the title), I’ll be there, and I’ll be ready.”

Despite Davis' strong BJJ game, she says she doesn't underestimate Eye at all.

“She (Eye) has good boxing, has a good game, and she’s a dynamic fighter – she gets in, she gets her points, and she gets out,” said Davis. “She’s not one who’s going to get into something like the Kaufman fight with me, that’s going to stand there and brawl. She’s going to get her points and pick her moments when she’s going to attack. And she’s no slouch in her jiu-jitsu game as well. That’s a mistake that a lot of her opponents make. She has some good submission wins, and while I’m very happy with the way my jiu-jitsu game is and I train with great athletes, great black belts, and world champions, you can’t underestimate your opponent at all.”

Eye vs Davis headlines the UFC 170 preliminary card, but fight fans who wish to tune in for the earlier fights on the card can get started by flipping to Fox Sports 1 at 8 p.m.

Opening the UFC 170 preliminary card, Zach Makovsky battles Josh Sampo at flyweight. Both men were on the mark for their contractual weight requirements, and its shaping up to be a fight with fireworks all over it.

The UFC 170 prelims then turn to bantamweight action, as Cody Gibson fights Aljamain Sterling and Raphael Assunção battles Pedro Munhoz.

Preceding the UFC 170 preliminary card on Fox Sports 1, Fight Pass members will have the exclusive opportunity to watch the two opening fights of the night.

Ernest Chavez fights Yosdenis Cedeno to kick off the UFC Fight Pass portion of the UFC 170 card. That fight is set to go down at 7 p.m.
