The UFC 168 live stream online events begin for Anderson Siva vs. Chris Weidman on Friday night, as the two competitors, and all of the rest of the fighters scheduled for the latest MMA event, will step on the scales to see if they made their necessary weights. The event may also give way to some pre-fight trash talk, or controversies ahead of the main show scheduled to take place in Las Vegas on Saturday night. The UFC 168 live streaming online weigh-ins will be presented for fans for free online through various sources.
A Dec. 27 report from USA Today indicates that Anderson “Spider” Silva has learned from the previous title loss to Chris Weidman and is ready to go Saturday night. The two previously fought at UFC 162, where Weidman scored a second round knockout to take the Middleweight Championship from Silva. It was also his first loss in seven years of impressive MMA fighting. Now “Spider” will attempt to win it back in Vegas, the scene of their original bout. While Weidman has criticized Silva for using silly antics in that first fight, Silva has said it was a “range of motion” issue resulting from using the wrong technique to avoid the knockout blow.
Silva told USA Today through an interpreter:
"There was one more thing: I learned that I have to be myself. I always have to be me."
He’ll step onto the scales tonight, as will his opponent. As of this report, Anderson Silva is considered among the best of the best in the business. He’s listed by UFC at a weight of 185 lbs, while Weidman has been given the same weight on their site. The only difference? Weidman has that coveted title that Silva lost, and a perfect record of 10-0. Will these two get a little "too close for comfort" for Dana White on stage during the second weigh-in ahead of their July fight sequel?
Also stepping on the scales Friday night will be two of the top women’s competitors in the sport. Ronda Rousey is the current Women’s Bantamweight champion and will put her title on the line against Miesha Tate in Saturday’s co-main event. Rousey, who is a perfect 7-0, is listed at 135 lbs, as is Tate, who is nicknamed “Cupcake.” She’s 13-4 and will look to score the major upset over “Rowdy Rousey,” so it will be interesting to see if any words or interesting stares are exchanged between these competitors on stage. Those are just four of the fighters who will step onto the scales Friday night, as there are five main event fights in total, four prelims on TV and two prelims live online coming at fans on Saturday evening.
Friday night's UFC 168 weigh-ins have a scheduled start time of 7 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Fans can watch the live streaming online video feed through the UFC website at that time. Additionally, other mixed martial arts or sports sites may be showing the feed, such as MMAJunkie.com and Bloody Elbow via SBNation. The actual fights will begin as early as 7 p.m. EST on Saturday night with live stream online preliminary bouts through the UFC Facebook, followed by more prelims on TV at FOX Sports 1 at 8 p.m., and the main PPV at 10 p.m. EST.
