UFC 158 results: Georges St-Pierre defeats Nick Diaz in main event

In UFC 158 results from Saturday's televised Pay-Per-View event, Welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre defeated Nick Diaz in the highly-anticipated main event. GSP was able to win by unanimous decision, earning 50-45 scores from all three judges for the fight.

According to a report from Yahoo! Sports on March 17, other winners on the card included Johny Hendricks and Jake Ellenberger. Hendricks won with a unanimous decision from all three judges with scores of 29-28. Ellenberger won by a TKO, as he sent Marquardt down with a left-right combo early in the fight. Also, Chris Camozzi defeated Nick Ring and Mike Ricci defeated Colin Fletcher by unanimous decision as well.

A report from MMA Mania gives video and written comments from UFC President Dana White after the event. White said of GSP's victory over Diaz:

"He stood with Nick Diaz and when they did stand I thought GSP got the better of the stand-up. At one point, you know, Georges St. Pierre got hit with the nastiest body shot - Nick hit is so hard, I don't know if you heard it on your side but on our side it was so loud. He took some punches from him, he took it to the ground when he wanted too, he controlled it on the ground and yeah, I thought Georges fought a great fight."

Dana also added that Diaz won't be given a rematch based on his performance against St-Pierre, but also he doesn't think Diaz should retire. In terms of who will get the next shot at GSP, White said, "There's no doubt that Johny Hendricks deserves the next shot, so no, he [Diaz] wouldn't get a rematch."

The undercard featured 7 preliminary fights via Facebook live stream and television on FX. Among the winners in these fights were Patrick Cote (unanimous), Darren Elkins (TKO), Jordan Mein (TKO), John Makdessi (unanimous), Rick Story (TKO), T.J. Dillashaw (KO) and George Roop (unanimous).

Televised preliminary fights from the UFC 158 fight card were seen on Roanoke's Cox Cable channel 57 for FX.
