UFC President Dana White certainly was not feeling stingy when he announced the five instead of the usual four winners of the UFC 119 fight bonuses in the amount of $70,000 each at the post-fight press conference at the Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Ind. Sept. 26 (watch the video here!). Instead of awarding a KO of the Night bonus he handed out a second Fight of the Night bonus. Apparently Frank Mir's knockout of the Croatian mixed martial arts legend Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic via knee at 4:03 in round three of the main event did not impress White enough.
Submission of the Night
C.B. Dollaway earned his $70,000-bonus which was no doubt more than his fight-purse due to his appearance on the UFC 119 undercard by defeating Joe Doerkson via guillotine choke at 2:13 in round one. Although his performance was no doubt impressive it was by far not the fastest submission of the night. Sean McCorkle beat him on the clock when he locked Mark Hunt into a kimura almost as soon as the fight started. Hunt tapped out at 1:03 in round one.
Fight(s) of the Night
Former UFC Leightweight Champion Sean Sherk and Evan Dunham both rightly earned the Fight of the Night bonus for their passionate slug fest and submission clinic. While the bout resulted in a split-decision win for Sherk he still gave Dunham props by acknowleding him as possible future UFC champ. For Dunham the $70,000 might help digest the furball his first loss, but he will have a hard time shaking the feeling of getting robbed of a well-deserved win.
Although Matt Mitrione and Joey Beltran were fighting on the UFC 119 undercard they can feel good about ousting former Heavyweight Champion Mir as KO of the Night recipient as White chose to award them the second Fight of the Night bonus instead. Their action-packed performance resulted in an unanimous decision-win for Mitrione (29-28 on all cards) and extra cash for both fighters.

Thank you Spike TV for the 4 prelims! That was indeed the best part of the show and it was for free.
