The official weigh in for UFC 118: Penn vs. Edgar 2 on Friday resulted in all 20 fighters making weight for their bouts at the TD Garden in Boston, Mass. Aug. 28.
Former UFC Champion BJ Penn seemed rather intense and was also sporting a cauliflower ear on his left side which showed potential to burst on impact during his upcoming title bout against defending Champion, Frankie Edgar. Hopefully, that won't turn into a cauliflower campaign similar to the Vaseline controversy following his loss to George St. Pierre at UFC 94. Edgar seemed rather relaxed in comparison and not one bit intimidated by Penn who still claims to be the reigning UFC Leightweight Champion on his Twitter profile. --->BJ Penn vs. Frankie Edgar 2 prediction
Boxer James Toney was trying to yet again declare himself to be the un-crowned heavyweight champion on his t-shirt to make sure everyone would understand him in case the UFC did not offer any captions for the weigh ins. Toney will make his MMA and UFC debut against UFC legend Randy Couture on Saturday. There is no doubt that this bout will be over quickly and Toney will most definitely not enjoy it.

As random act of kindness Gabe Ruediger presented his opponent, Joe Lauzon, with a cake that read 'Sorry for your loss' at the weigh in which Lauzon took in good humor. But Lauzon might just have the last laugh tomorrow when he beats Ruediger and eats his cake, too.
UFC 118 tickets are available online at Ticketmaster. The fights can also be viewed at select movie theaters in the U.S. for $15, for free at select bars, and via cable or online PPV for $44.95.

Comments
Toney is pitiful. My condolences again for his long-time dead brain cells.
I agree, Allan. But the shocking thing is that he stands to make $750K-$1 Million for his UFC 118 fight against Couture. For 30 seconds of work that is one giant paycheck. I wonder how all the real MMA fighters on this card feel about that.
I totally agree. On the the other hand, the UFC is not known for its equity. No matter how good you are and how hard you train, it's all about the hype. If you make sell tickets and PPV, Dana sucks it up to you and you get the big bucks. Business wise, I can understand that, but the two fighters should have the same purse.
Ask Carwin about his paycheck compared to Brock Lesnar at UFC 116 (I remember one of your articles about that).
You mean equality, as in treating all fighters the same?
Yes. As it's obvious that some fighters drain more fans (and money) and somewhat deserve a bigger slice of the cake, two fighters that face off each other should have the same fight purse (win bonus and other fight bonuses apart).
