The early action featured the heavy hitters sizing up one another, with do Santos scoring the best of the action, including a solid combination at the one-minute mark. Dos Santos had a cut on the nose near the left eye from the exchanges, but was not hurt.
Then dos Santos floored Yvel with a huge left uppercut to the face, pounced like a shark in bloody water and pounded out the flailing Yvel 2:07 into the slugfest.
“I noticed that when he was coming in, I tried to counter attack, so I came in low," dos Santos via through manager Ed Soares. "We trained for that.
“Man, I love this," dos Santos said, eschewing the translator. "I love to be a fighter, I love this place, I love you guys. It’s amazing, my life. This is my home."
