UFC 106: Ortiz vs. Griffin 2 Sadollah vs. Baroni fight video

UFC 106: Ortiz vs. Griffin 2 aired live on pay per view, last night, from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nev. Opening the main card of the pay per view was the UFC return of "The New York Badass" Phil Baroni after a five year absence from the octagon. Baroni took on The Ultimate Fighter Season 7 winner Amir Sadollah in a welterweight match up.

Many fans wondered, myself included, if Baroni had changed since his last few fights, where he showed a lack of conditioning and stamina, gassing out after his trademark opening flurry. Inevitably, the answer was no, as Baroni seemingly "gassed out" mid-way through the first round.

To his credit, Baroni didn't get finished, but was bloodied and battered for his efforts. Sadollah basically put on an impressive Muay Thai clinic, cutting Baroni badly, twice. As many predicted, again, myelf included, Sadollah weathered the early barrage of punches from Baroni and went on to win the decision, busting up  "The New York Badass" in the process.

Here is the Amir Sadollah vs. Phil Baroni fight in its entirety. Enjoy!

Please be patient and let the video load and buffer, it takes a few seconds or so, depending on your connection speed.

If you are talking about this fight, Amir vs. Baroni, it looks like Baroni won't be doing a lot of things for a month. Breathing out of his nose, seeing out of one eye, etc. Amir beat him like he stole from him. It is a great fight, and to Baroni's credit/stupidity, he never goes down. He hasn't been the same for many years and was (in my opinion) a gift to Sadollah from Dana White. Amir has had bad luck ever since winning the ultimate fighter and needed a win badly. The thing that surprised me the most was that Amir didn't take him down and submit him, as many thought he would. Good fight to watch though, especially if you dislike Baroni, which most fans do...LOL.
