UCSC and Santa Cruz police investigating on campus sexual assault

Santa Cruz police say they are aiding UCSC officials in an investigation into a rape that took place on campus over the weekend.

Police have not released details about the incident, but the victim worked with a police artist to develop a composite sketch of the suspect. Police have posted flyers on campus and along neighborhood trails in the hopes that someone will recognize the perpetrator.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 30s with pale skin and a round face. He was about 5’11” and at least 200 pounds with a muscular, stocky build. He has dark black, medium-length hair and green eyes with a black mustache and goatee.

Anyone with information on this case is urged to contact UC Santa Cruz police at (831) 459-2231. Anonymous tips can be made by calling (831) 459-3TIP or via the UCSC police website.
