UConn woman defeated by Notre Dame in Big East Championship (Photos)

The rivalry is over for the UConn women's basketball team, losing to Notre Dame 61-59 on Tuesday night at the XL Center. With one second left, a tie score and everyone on the edge of their seats, Natalie Achonwa made the game wining basket for Notre Dame. UConn, who trailed early in the game made a good come back in the second half but they weren't strong enough to take the win. This is Notre Dames first win and the first loss in five years for the UConn woman.

UConn's Dolson led with 18 points and 14 rebounds and Stewart had 16. The Big East Tournaments Most Outstanding Player McBride had 23 points for Notre Dame and Jewell Loyd added 16.
