Dr. Delfyett is the Trustee Chair and Professor of Optics, ECE and Physics at the UCF Center for Research and Education in Optics and Lasers (CREOL).

The prestigious award is presented to a Florida resident who has contributed in an outstanding manner to the promotion of the scientific research, to the stimulation of interest in the sciences, or to the diffusion of scientific knowledge.

"It’s a great honor because my scientific colleagues have acknowledged my contributions to science and how they have played a role in strengthening Florida’s role in the high tech economic sector of the global economy," said Dr. Delfyett.

Dr. Delfyett will be the keynote speaker to the 79th annual FAS meeting at St. Leo University in San Antonio, Florida on March 20, 2015.
