With just a bit more than 48 hours between us and the Labor Day weekend, it’s safe to begin bidding summer adieu. With autumn come many fine things, not the least of which is great live jazz at two University of California campuses.
The jazz offerings on the schedule at Berkeley’s Zellerbach Auditorium and Davis’ Mondavi Center are listed below. One obvious highlight at the former is native son Joshua Redman playing his hometown; at the latter, tough to beat Bill Frisell showcasing the music of John Lennon. Here are the venues’ 2013-14 lineups.
