Ubisoft shows more gameplay for Watch_Dogs

Ubisoft has stayed quiet about Watch_Dogs since they announced it at last year’s E3. More gameplay was shown at tonight’s PlayStation 4 conference, which focused on the game’s “smart city”. This new demo showed how player character Aiden will manipulate his environments, giving players a better idea of how vast their options may be when exploring this title’s open world.

By scanning various people on the street, Aiden was able to immediately learn their names and occupations. He was then able to hack into one man’s bank account, and withdraw his cash from a nearby ATM. The demo finished with Aiden being involved in a police chase. Using his remote, he was able to immediately stop a train, climb on its roof, and then take off before being apprehended.

Watch_Dogs looks gorgeous, and the possibilities laid out in the game’s premise seem nearly endless. With the amount of detail that is seemingly going into this game’s city environment, it is clear why this is a next generation title. Sony spent much of its time today talking about the PlayStation 4’s processing power, and if Ubisoft can live up to this game’s high expectations, then Watch_Dogs may be a clear example of this new technology in action.
