Ubisoft's 'Osiris' images, video leak (Photos)

Less than a day after Ubisoft Montreal CEO Yannis Mallat said the "Prince of Persia" franchise is being put on hold, a production video and images of what was rumored to be "Prince of Persia Zero" has leaked.

Now "officially" titled "Osiris," the video leaked Tuesday night showcases a blend of a historical setting in Egypt with supernatural aspects, including one extremely over-the-top earthquake. It's not an official trailer, and focuses a lot on the production aspect, including motion capture. Movie nerds will no doubt notice the mask worn by one character as the same design from "Stargate" worn by Ra, the goa'uld lord.

The video doesn't give much of an idea of what type of game players can expect, or when it will be released. In Egyptian mythology, Osiris was the god of the underworld, and is often portrayed as an antagonist in popular fiction. Viewers can see a quick glimpse of a figure that appears to be the dog-like embodiment of the Egyptian god.

It does appear that Ubisoft is pushing hard for the next generation of consoles with several new intellectual properties, including this and "Watch_Dogs" unveiled at last year's E3.
