U2 is going to be heard during the Super Bowl! The February 2 NFL game might have a not-so-exciting halftime show but the band U2 was confirmed to be part of the big game in a different way. According to USA Today on Thursday, the band will sing the tune Invisible in a Super Bowl commercial.
Once fans see the commercial, they can download the song free during the game. Bank of America will donate $1 for every download with a maximum of $2 million to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. The kind gesture is one of two reasons to get the free music (the reason being U2 is a great band.)
The band U2 offers another reason to watch the show and gives people the chance to hear more music. The opera singer belting out the national anthem didn't seem to excite many fans and the halftime show with Bruno Mars and Red Hot Chili Peppers is cool but somewhat limited in musical appeal. Knowing that U2 will be on the TV during game day? Well even if football isn't your first love it’s reason to watch.
Fans will be surprised on when they will see the 60-second Super Bowl ad as there was no official announcement on what quarter the Super Bowl commercial will be seen. However it is free music so waiting to find out how to download a song can’t be too terribly inconvenient.
