U.S. warns of Swine Flu in daycare facilities

U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services, Kathleen Sebelius, has labeled Swine Flu as a "young people's disease" and the CDC has reported that Swine Flu will spread very quickly in children.  Additionally, children under 5 are labeled as "high-risk" due to the complications that can arise due to the Swine Flu.  So far, 36 U.S. children have died from the Swine Flu.

Officials report that daycare centers will be the prime environment for the spread of Swine Flu, and the government has warned day care centers and parents of day care aged children to be on the lookout for Swine Flu symptoms

Children who attend day care are at a higher risk for contracting Swine Flu due to the nature of day care centers.  Children regularly cough and sneeze without covering their mouths, share the same toys, and are typically in very close contact with one another.  Health officials have advised children and babies over the age of 6 months to get the potentially dangerous Swine Flu vaccine in hopes to limit the number of Swine Flu cases.

This news can be very alarming to parents of daycare children, and they should know what to do if they notice Swine Flu symptoms in children.
