U.S. voters cannot recall members of Congress

While the United States Congress goes into its fifth year of bipartisan gridlock and continues to do absolutely nothing about the nation's most pressing issues, American voters are getting increasingly angry. In fact, 'angry' is probably an inadequate description. A better description is probably 'full of rage'.

The majority of voters are sick and tired of this do-nothing Congress, the political posturing, and the media over-exposure of it all. Some voters are even talking about recalling members of congress. Well, did you know that the U.S voters do not even have the right to recall any members of Congress? Neither does the President, Vice-President or any other individual in the entire country. Not even the Supreme Court can recall members of congress. The only way a Congressman can be removed from office is if he does something so unethical that his fellow members of Congress vote him out. Considering how many members of Congress get caught committing unethical acts without any real consequences, how likely are members to vote out one of their own?

How did this happen? The members of Congress, who write and pass laws regarding our Constitutional rights, deliberately wrote our laws so that, once elected, they cannot be recalled by the voters who elected them.

What can voters possibly do about these do-nothing members of Congress and the ongoing bipartisan gridlock in Washington, D.C.? Many of them were just re-elected in November of 2012 so, for now, the best thing to do is call, email and/or write letters to the members of Congress who are supposed to represent you. Also, you do not have to limit your contacts to those members who belong to the same political party with which you are affiliated. In addition, you can also contact members of Congress from other states if you really have a point you wish to make.

However, just to give you a 'heads-up', members of Congress have made it very difficult for you to contact them unless you're willing to call their direct office(s). If you want to send them an email, you have to go to each individual member's website, fill out a brief form, write your comments inside a box, and click on SUBMIT. The political situation in the U.S. has reached a crisis point! It's time to contact your Congressional representatives and senators and give them the message, 'I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore!' (That quotation was taken from the 1976 movie entitled 'Network'.)
