U.S. Rep. Kevin Yoder skinny dipped in Israel

Last summer, a House Republicans’ group travelled to Israel on official Congressional business as a delegation. A story is just surfacing now which tells of a late night activity which included drinking and swimming at the Sea of Galilee. The activity was basically tame except for the actions of United States Representative Kevin Yoder of Kansas who decided to swim without a swimsuit.

According to reports, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, who was on the trip but not at the escapade which included the drinking and swimming, was told about the activity and was extremely upset with his fellow Congressmen.

According to Politico and ABC News, Cantor called the members of the Israel delegation and dealt with the concern by strongly stating that the activities were most unacceptable and must never happen again.

Yoder made a statement regarding the incident by saying:

A year ago, my wife, Brooke, and I joined colleagues for dinner at the Sea of Galilee in Israel. After dinner I followed some Members of Congress in a spontaneous and very brief dive into the sea and regrettably I jumped into the water without a swimsuit. It is my greatest honor to represent the people of Kansas in Congress and any embarrassment I have caused for my colleagues and constituents, I apologize.

Rep. Kevin Yoder, 36, was a Kansas state representative from 2002 until 2011. Currently, he represents the state's 3rd Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives.

The FBI reportedly looked into the matter but no action was taken after its investigation.
