U.S. Presidents with asthma

Did you know there are several U.S. Presidents that suffered from asthma? If you are an asthma sufferer, imagine having asthma during a time when natural remedies were used to treat symptoms. Adrenaline, the first modern medication used for asthma, was not prescribed until the 1920's!

According to the AAFA of Southern California, the following lists the U.S. Presidents and Vice President that suffered from asthma:

Martin Van Buren
8th President of the United States (1782-1862)

Theodore (Teddy) Roosevelt
26th President of the United States (1858-1919)

Woodrow Wilson
28th President of the United States (1856-1924)

Calvin Coolidge
30th President of the United States (1872-1933)

John F. Kennedy
35th President of the United States (1917-1963)

Walter Mondale
Former U.S. Vice President (1928- )

Gearing up for President's Day February 15? If you are interested in visiting a presidential museum for President's Day, check out the Ronald Reagan Library and  Museum located at 40 Presidential Drive in Simi Valley. They are hosting their 18th Annual President's Day Celebration Monday, Feb. 15, from 10 am - 3 pm. There will be presidential storytelling by president and first lady look-alikes, including Abigail Adams, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. Musical entertainment will be provided by the Los Cerritos Instrumental Music, The Thousand Oaks High School Band and the Ira Nepus Jazz Band. Crafts and activities including designing your own Lincoln penny, making a tri-corn colonial hat, playing presidential bingo, and going on a scavenger hunt. All President's Day activities are free.
