Country trio The McClymonts are aiming to end 2011 on a high note in the U.S., and thanks to the brand-new news that the title track from their Wrapped up Good CD has broken into the Top 30 on the Music Row Country Breakout Chart this week, they're doing just that.
The notice that "Wrapped Up Good," the single, has moved into the No. 28 spot on the aforementioned chart marks the highest-charting single in the U.S. to date for trio members Brooke, Sam and Mollie. The performers received the news Down Under,where they are currently visiting with their family for the holidays.
“We are thrilled to hit No. 28 this week!" exclaimed Sam McClymont via a missive from her Nashville-based PR rep. "The support we have received in America for our music has been overwhelming. We are so excited to tour again next year and release more songs from the record Wrapped Up Good.”
Although they are commonly dubbed as Australia’s hottest country group, the women have said they knew that success in the U.S. would be a much steeper climb. In June, they decided to take the challenge by moving across the world to Nashville.
During the summer, they toured throughout North America in support of the U.S. release of Wrapped Up Good album, which reached No. 5 on the Australian charts, outselling country superstars Carrie Underwood, Tim McGraw and Kenny Chesney in that part of the world. Then, in September, the trio made its Grand Ole Opry debut and were immediately invited back.
From there, the singers continued their media campaign in October with appearances on national outlets NPR’s Weekend Edition and The Better Show. November proved to be an exciting month, as reigning Country Music Association CEO Steve Moore presented the group with the 2011 CMA Global Country Artist Award. And just a few weeks later, they wrapped the month performing at Tootsie’s 51st Birthday Bash on Broadway in Music City.
As for 2012, February will find the threesome among the country-music community at CRS, or the industry event known as the Country Radio Seminar in Nashville. In addition, they are currently lining up tour dates throughout the U.S., including the following:
- May 12: Creve Coeur Lakehouse – Maryland Heights, Mo.
- June 16: Kick’n Up Kountry Music Festival – Thief River Falls, Minn.
- July 16: Northeast Missouri Fair – Kirksville, Mo.
- Aug. 6: Wisconsin State Fair – West Allis, Wisc.
