NBC News reported that the United States military could strike Syria over a period of three days with missiles in order to send a message to the Assad regime. Their reporters wrote:
“The United States could hit Syria with three days of missile strikes, perhaps beginning Thursday, in an attack meant more to send a message to the Syrian regime than to topple Bashar al-Assad or cripple his military, senior U.S. officials told NBC News.”
According to the Guardian, the United States and its ally the United Kingdom are working together to finalize the plan for the intended strike. Prime Minister David Cameron recalled the parliament so that they could debate the allies’ plans for the intervention.
The governments of Russia and China have denounced the proposed military intervention by the west. BBC News reported earlier today that the two countries claimed that any attack would have dire consequences for the region.
More information to come as the days go by.
