U.S. government has abandoned the American southwest

Last weekend’s murder of an Arizona rancher has outraged people across the country, and is bringing attention to the war zone-like conditions which those in the American southwest have lived under for several years.

Authorities now admit that Robert Krentz, 58, was likely shot to death by an illegal alien.

His body was found on Saturday night, on his 35,000-acre ranch about 35 miles northeast of Douglas. His murderer also killed Krentz’s dog.

The ranch which has been in the Krentz family since 1907, is located in a known smuggling corridor, used by Mexican drug cartels.

Shortly after the murder was discovered, U.S. Border Patrol agents, sheriff’s deputies and Department of Corrections dog chase teams followed a single set of foot tracks for 20 miles, to the Mexican border.

Cochise County Sheriff Larry Dever told reporters: “We are assuming he escaped south into Mexico.”

As far as a motive, detectives believe that retaliation is a strong possibility. The day before Krentz was murdered, his brother, Phil Krentz, phoned the Border Patrol to report drug smuggling activity on the ranch.

As a result of the report, agents arrested eight illegal aliens and seized 290 pounds of marijuana.

The following is a list of some of the atrocities which have occurred in the American Southwest as a direct result of the federal government’s refusal to defend the 2,000 mile-long border with Mexico. This list illustrates both the human as well as financial toll being taken on our fellow citizens living in the border regions:

-On March 8, 2009, 13-year-old Kendrick Owens was walking with a friend along the road in New Caney, TX, when police say the 1998 Dodge Dakota driven by illegal alien Javier Correa, 28, struck and killed him.

Correa sped away from the scene, and drove to his nearby home. A tow truck driver who saw him hit Owens, followed Correa and alerted police to his location. A few minutes later, Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers arrived and took him into custody.

Correa has been charged with intoxication manslaughter, and failure to stop and render aid.

-In September 2009, police in Waco, TX brought new charges against illegal aliens Henry Andres Cortez, 42, and his brother, Jose Adan Olivera, 38, stemming from their earlier arrest for the repeated rape of a young boy.

According to court documents, the boy told police that the two raped him nearly every day until he reached the age of 12. Apparently, the pair took turns videotaping each other abusing the child.

Both have been charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child and continuous sexual abuse.

-In August 2009, Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael Antonovich made public the staggering amount which the taxpayers spend on illegal aliens, living in L.A. County. Last June alone, the county paid out $48 million to the children of illegal aliens, an increase of $10 million over June 2007.

$26 million of that total came in the form of food stamps, while another $22 million was given to the illegal alien families in welfare checks.

Assuming that June was a typical month for 2009, Los Angeles County spent nearly $600 million on those two programs last year alone. That is in addition to the more than $1 billion that the county spends annually on the medical treatment, education, emergency services, and incarceration of illegal aliens.

-On April 17, 2009, Judge Cecil Puryear in Lubbock, TX, sentenced Mexican national Julian Vasquez to 15 years in prison for a July 2008 incident in which Vasquez broke into an apartment and sexually assaulted a 13-year-old girl.

Vasquez forced his way into the dwelling located in the Cora Apartments, and shoved the girl onto the bed, tore off her shirt and bra, and fondled her breasts, according to court documents.

The girl was able to fight off Vasquez and ran into the bathroom, where she called 911. When officers arrived, they found Vasquez still trying to open the bathroom door.

The only defense offered by Vasquez’s attorney, Jesse Mendez, was that his client was drunk when he committed the frightening assault.

-In 2009, San Bernardino County spent $64 million providing welfare benefits to U.S.-born children of illegal aliens.

According to county records, during a typical month, close to 15,000 offspring of illegal aliens received either welfare payments or food stamps in 2009. Over 11,000 of those children received both forms of assistance.

-On January 3, 2008, police in Fort Worth, TX, arrested several members of the Latino gang known as Varrio Central for forcing young girls into prostitution. Some of the girls being victimized were as young as 12 years old.

Diego Rodriguez, 19, and Martin Reyes, 17, were charged with aggravated kidnapping, trafficking of a person, and engaging in organized criminal activity. The names of three minors arrested were not released.

Varrio Central members would typically befriend the girls, get them high, and then take them to their regular customers. They would also drive them through apartment complexes, approaching men with the offer of sex with a teen-aged or pre-teen girl for a fee of $50.

According to Fort Worth Police, if a girl refused to comply, gang members would beat and sexually assault her and threaten her family with violence.

Fort Worth Police Lt. Ken Dean told the Associated Press: “The age of the victims and suspects is the surprising part of it. To have such young individuals in a somewhat organized business, a forced prostitution ring, is somewhat alarming and such a horrendous crime against the 12 to 16 year old girls.”

-In 2008, there 359 kidnappings recorded in Phoenix. However, police estimate the actual numbers to be closer to three times as high as the reported figures. Many victims fail to report such crimes, out of fear from further retribution from the notoriously violent cartels.

-On September 18, 2007, Phoenix Police Officer Erfle stopped a group of men who were obstructing traffic, one of the men, Mexican national Erik Martinez then shot and killed him. Martinez had been deported in 2006 for theft charges, but was able to easily re-enter the U.S.

Officer Erfle, 33 left behind a wife and two children.

-On September 21, 2006, Houston Police Officer Rodney Johnson was shot and killed while making a routine traffic stop. The illegal alien who murdered him had been deported back to Mexico seven years earlier. However, due to the federal government’s refusal to defend the Mexican border, this human predator easily re-entered the United States, eventually killing Ofc. Johnson.

40 year old Officer Rodney Johnson was a 12 year veteran of the Houston Police Department and a U.S. Army veteran. While serving on the HPD, Ofc. Johnson received two Lifesaving Awards. He left behind his wife Joslyn (also a police officer) and five children.

-In 2003, the American Southwest saw 77 hospitals enter bankruptcy due to unpaid medical bills incurred by illegal aliens. A staggering 84 hospitals in California alone, have been forced to close their doors because of the growing crisis. Hospitals which manage to remain open, pass the unpaid costs onto the rest of us, which translates into more out-of-pocket expenses and higher insurance premiums for Americans.

-On April 29, 2002, Los Angeles Sheriff's Deputy David March, 33 was shot to death by Mexican national Armondo Garcia. The Mexican national told friends that he wanted to kill a police officer. Garcia saw Deputy March on patrol one evening and pulled over and waited for March to drive past him. As soon as March began to pass, Garcia opened fire. Garcia fled back across the border after murdering March.

For four years, the government of Mexico refused to apprehend or extradite Garcia. In February 2006, U.S. Customs officers arrested Garcia in Mexico. Garcia has since pleaded guilty and was sentenced to life in prison.

Deputy March served with the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department for seven years and left behind a wife and stepdaughter.

-On March 26, 1999, Phoenix Police Officer Marc Atkinson, 28 was shot and killed by illegal alien Felipe Petrona-Cabana. Officer Anderson was ambushed by Cabana while on routine patrol. Cabana was traveling with two other illegal aliens and carrying a pound of cocaine. An armed citizen named Rory Vertigan witnessed the shooting and helped capture the outlaws.

Officer Atkinson served on the Phoenix Police Department for five years. He left behind a wife and an infant son.

-Two-thirds of fugitive felony warrants issued in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.

-95 percent of warrants issued for murder in L.A. are for illegal aliens.

-83 percent of warrants issued for murder in Phoenix, AZ are for illegal aliens.

-86 percent of warrants issued for murder in Albuquerque, NM are for illegal aliens.

-53 percent of burglaries in Nevada, New Mexico, Arizona, California, and Texas are committed by illegal aliens.

-According to police, there are at least 53,000 Latino gang members in Los Angeles (that is the equivalent of three Airborne divisions).

-Mexican drug cartels produce 80 percent of the methamphetamine sold on U.S. streets. In 2007 alone, U.S. Customs agents confiscated over 2,000 lbs of methamphetamine at the six official border crossing stations in California.
