Has anybody noticed, that the United States is sure bombing a lot of people lately?
Including Afghanistan, we are bombing people in four different countries right now?
To put this into perspective, in terms of costs - one Reaper drone cost $28.1 million dollar and we have at least 60 of those right now.
Depending on the type of drone, it costs anywhere from a few hundred thousand to a 1 million dollars per mission.
Drones are equipped with at least one or two hellfire missile. Each hellfire missile costs $ 58000 dollars per unit.
The United States has armed, financed and trained Islamic terrorists (linked to al-Qaeda) in Libya to fight in Syria and secretly trained MEK terrorists in Nevada to fight in Iran.
Two more “secret wars” we are engaged in right now.
Including the countries we are bombing with drones the U.S. is currently engaged in six wars right now.
On the economic front we have engaged in a war of sanctions against Syria and Iran, for years now. This is literally crippling their respective economies and hurting innocent people in those countries.
In the case of the lran we may have cyber-sabotaged it with a worm that spiraled out of control worldwide and continue to launch unprovoked cyber attacks against that country almost daily (see article: Obama Order Sped Up Wave of Cyberattacks Against Iran http://www.nytimes.com/2012/06/01/world/middleeast/obama-ordered-wave-of-cyberattacks-against-iran.html?pagewanted=all ).
We have amassed three aircraft carrier battle groups in the Middle East, deployed hundreds of marines to Australia and sought to get back a long abandoned deep water naval base in Vietnam.
This as part of a strategic pivot of forces aimed at threatening China – our largest single trading partner?
In Afghanistan, the world’s undisputed leader in opium production, we have pledged to keep thousands of special operations troops in that country past 2020, at the same time we continue to fund that corrupt narco-state at a cost of a hundreds of billions of dollars every year.
At the same time we have cut back on social programs here in the U.S. like Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, food assistance to the poor and education for our children (see article: GOP plan protects Pentagon, cuts social programs http://www.foxnews.com/us/2012/05/07/gop-plan-boosts-pentagon-cuts-social-programs/
First, it makes you wonder where our priorities at?
Second, it makes you wonder how much longer can we afford it?
We are currently over $15 trillion dollars in debt right now, not counting the interest.
