U.S. Army to finally investigate beating of sheep by soldiers: video

Nearly a year ago, a video was released on Live Leaks of an Army soldier beating an innocent sheep severely with a baseball bat while other soldiers cheered him on.  First, last I knew, sheep were not the enemy, and second, thank the powers that be that these idiots are dumb enough to record their stupidity so they can brought to justice!

After much outrage from all corners; civilians and animal advocacy groups, the U.S. Army is finally launching an investigation into the incident.  The outcome of the sheep has not been shown or disclosed, but after such a brutal beating, it isn’t likely the animal survived.

The video shows the animal led in by a child inside a circle of soldiers.  One soldier begins whacking the sheep on its head.  It goes down, and tries to rise and get away, only to be beaten again.  It is last seen lying on its side, kicking its legs in a futile effort to get up. (Video – Warning: The images shown are graphic)

This crime, forever recorded on video, is from those men who are supposed to be our protectors, our supposed heroes.  Their job is to safeguard the innocent, not kill it.  Their behavior can have no excuse for there is none.

There is absolutely no honor in their actions, and anything less than a full court martial would be a joke.  What they have done with such glee dishonors all other soldiers who go out of their way each day to protect the lives of the innocent, often forfeiting their own life in the process.

Please write your state’s representatives and demand justice for this abused animal.  After all, animal abuse is one swing of the bat away from child abuse.  What’s the difference?  Neither can protect themselves and neither do anything to deserve such cruelty.  Inaction on this issue is tantamount to condoning it.  Don’t let apathy stand in the way of condemning the actions of these soldiers.
