It is a rather stunning development that Al-Qaida and the U.S. both agree on something – anything. But that is exactly what is happening with respect to Syria.
Al-Qaida's leader the other day has voiced his full support for the Syrian uprising against President Bashar al-Assad and called on Muslims everywhere to come to the aid of Syrian anti-government rebels. That includes condoning terrorist attacks. Ayman al-Zawahri also urged Muslims in Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey to join the uprising against what he called Mr. Assad's "pernicious, cancerous regime."
According to senior level Iraqi officials who say intelligence over the last 90 days has revealed a steady “flow of al-Qaida-linked fighters”, as well as weapons for President Assad's opponents, from northern Iraq into Syria.
This corresponds with an increase in terrorist attacks in Syria where hundreds of people have died.
“There can be no doubt of an armed group in Syria that is killing and murdering innocent civilians and police using terrorist tactics. The government over there is fighting against that. The only one that denies that is President Obama who is receiving bad intelligence information on the situation in Syria. Either that or he is stupid or he is a liar”, says Kevin Hill of Charlotte, who receives up to date reports from insiders in Syria via social media sites. Hill suggest that MI6 and the CIA are helping the rebels and attributing the terrorist act the government? Officials with MI6 indicated they do not support terrorism in Syria and deny Hill’s claims.
UNITED IN HATE
Like the vicious murder Ayman al-Zawahri, President Obama dislikes President Assad.
President Obama said Assad had displayed “disdain for human life and dignity”.
“The Syrian regime’s policy of maintaining power by terrorizing its people only indicates its inherent weakness and inevitable collapse,” Obama said. “Assad has no right to lead Syria, and has lost all legitimacy with his people and the international community.”
President Obama refuses to acknowledge the terrorist threat in Syria.
To the Syrian people, Obama pledged U.S. support. So does al-Qaida…
“You know we are on the wrong side when we find ourselves in agreement with al-Qaida”, says Nathan Fillmore of Charlotte, N.C. “Yet this is what is happening with regard to Syria”, he said.
“The US is doing more than just agreeing with al-Qaida – the US, French and Qatari military is secretly supporting al-Qaida backed terrorist in Syria” says Omar Esposito. “these are the same Al-Qaeda-affiliated terrorists who fought U.S. troops in Iraq and helped NATO powers overthrow Colonel Gaddafi were airlifted into Syria to aid rebels there in attempting to topple President Bashar al-Assad in November last year”, he said.
The US denies it is helping terrorists in Syria, but is considering “humanitarian aid” to help aid them.
