U-32 beats Harwood for 2011 D-II girls hockey title

For the second straight season, the U-32 Raiders captured the Division II Vermont state hockey championship.

Jyneva Pickel scored twice and Gabrielle Colett and Zoe Myers had a goal and an assist apeice as second seeded U-32 defeated top-seeded Harwood 4-1 at UVM's Gutterson Fieldhouse on Monday night.

Ashley Vincent stopped seven shots for the 18-3-1 Raiders, who won the season series with the regional rival 2-1.

Siena Damon stopped 21 shots for the 19-3-1 Highlanders. Laurel Whitney scored Harwood's lone goal, assisted by Taylor Yandow and Kristina Yandow.
