Tyson on 'Law & Order: SVU': Boxer Mike Tyson to play convicted murderer on TV (Video)

Boxing legend Mike Tyson will be on the "Law & Order" television show in a guest-starring role next month. The former boxing champion will be playing the role of a convicted murderer for the "SVU" series of the hit "L&O" show.

As reported by Reuters via Yahoo! News on Jan. 11, Tyson is set to play a convict on death row for murder. His character, Reggie Rhodes, was victimized by a difficult childhood. Tyson has spent real time behind bars for rap, serving a three year sentence from 1992 through 1995. He had originally been sentenced to six years for the rape charge but was released early.

Mike Tyson also has some acting experience to his credit. He's appeared in "The Hangover" movies, as well as on TV for various appearances including WWE. Tyson was also part of at least one of WWE's WrestleMania Pay-Per-Views. He's had multiple cameos on TV over the years as well as interviews.

Iron Mike's "Law & Order: SVU" episode is scheduled to show on Feb. 13, a day ahead of Valentine's Day 2013. Roanoke TV viewers can watch Mike Tyson's appearance on the show on local NBC affiliate station WSLS 10 via Cox Cable.
