Tyson Cole's Uchi to open on February 2nd, 2012 in Montrose

Tyson Cole's highly anticipated, award-winning Uchi is set to open on February 2nd, 2012 in the former Felix space at the corner of Westhemier and Montrose.

Cole, who recently won the James Beard Award for Best Chef Southwest 2011, famously competed on "Iron Chef America," and been recognized as Food and Wine Magazine's Top 10 Chefs in the US dating back to 2005. He has received critical acclaim for both Uchi and Uchiko concepts in the Austin, TX area, and for his first foray into the Houston restaurant scene, he brings us the original Uchi. Uchi Houston's menu will include hot and cool tastings, makimono, yakimono, tempura and, of course, sushi and sashimi.

Chef Cole has named Kaz Edwards of the original Uchi as chef de cuisine in Houston. Monica Glenn, longtime protégé of Philip Speer, will be pastry chef. Dan Allen will serve as General Manager.
