For a team that has been thin in the backcourt, the Sacramento Kings will love to have Tyreke Evans back. They'll have him soon enough.
Evans sought a second opinion on his sore left knee that has kept him out of 13 of the last 17 games, including the last eight games. Dr. Steve Lombardo, who is also the Los Angeles Lakers' team physician, approved of the Kings treatment of Evans' injury.
Originally scheduled to return three days ago, Evans is expected to return to action during the upcoming five-game homestand and according to Grant Napear, the team's play-by-play announcer, Evans will return to the team in Toronto.
The Kings will play the Cleveland Cavaliers today at 4 p.m. PST. Kings shooting guard Marcus Thornton, who sprained his left ankle in Sunday's win over Boston, is listed as doubtful.
