Types of potatoes

Potatoes taste great, are full of vitamins and are just about free of fat! There are several different types of potatoes to use when cooking. Here, we will take a look at several types of potatoes:

Yukon gold: Great for mashed potatoes due to their buttery flavor!

Russet: (Idaho) Good used for mashed potatoes, baked potatoes and other dished where potato is the star ingredient.

White: Great for potato salads!

Red: Perfect for boiling, roasting, baking or steaming.

Yellow: Have a yellow inside and buttery flavor and are great for roasting and steaming.

Any of these varieties can be used any way you like! I like to use red potatoes for salads and baking!
