It turns out that both were later let go to make room for two defensive players that were claimed from the the waivers. The two players that were picked up were guard Antoine McClain and defensive tackle Brian Sandford.
It would make sense since the Oakland Raiders really need to improve on their defense, while having too many quarterbacks and punters.
Rookie quarterback Tyler Wilson looked great during the mini-camps, but failed to make an impression in the preseason. The three remaining quarterbacks, Terrelle Pryor, Matthew McGloin, and Matt Flynn wait for the coach to announce which one of them will be the starter.
Most likely, Matthew McGloin will not get the good news, since he has already overcome Tyler Wilson. Plus, Pryor and Flynn have been under the spotlight more than McGloin, despite the impressive passing yardage during the preseason.
Chris Kluwe was picked up from the Minnesota Vikings but was outplayed by punter Marquette King. It was reported that Kluwe sent King a tweet to congratulate the punter on the accomplishment.
Kluwe and Wilson will most likely get picked up by other teams to at least participate in practice squads.
Now, the Silver-and-Black fans will wait to see who gets to be the starting quarterback.
