Oprah Winfrey celebrated birthday number 59 Tuesday, and she spent most of the day in bed with an ice pack after an injury incurred by Tyler Perry’s birthday gift, Zap2it reported on Thursday, Jan. 31.
“In bed with ice pack most of the day. Moved a bushel of roses sent by @tylerperry and sprained a back muscle,” Oprah Winfrey tweeted.
Actor, director and producer Tyler Perry apologized on Facebook, explaining, “I like to send really large flower arrangements to people for whatever occasion. Well, I sent one to Oprah yesterday for her birthday. She strained her back picking it up. No joke! Feel better Oprah.”
Oprah responded to Perry’s Facebook post, saying there was no reason to feel bad and that she loves roses and “got an extra day in bed.” Winfrey had tweeted on the morning of her birthday that she planned to lounge around in her pajamas all day.
