I know, right. I promise you are NOT reading the Star or the Enquirer, this is not a horrible episode of Maury either. Tyler Perry searches for his biological father, because his mother lied to him about who his father was.
Tyler Perry is straight up one of my favorites. Yes TP has his faults-but I love his hustle, his love for JESUS and the fact that he knows how to cater to what his audience loves. And nobody deserves to find out a secret like this late in life.
But this right here, with his Mama, I cannot do. Let me spill just a little bit of this tea on you.

"I love my mother to death, but she lied to me,"
he told an audience during his recent appearance at the Women's Empowerment 2014 event in Raleigh, North Carolina.
Tyler Perry was taking a DNA test with with his brother and found out that there was no way that he could be, Emmitt Perry Sr.'s son. Tyler Perry has been very outspoken throughout his career about the physical abuse that he suffered as a child and that his father would often beat him until he "blacked-out." He also once whipped him so bad that the skin came off of his back, Perry even attempted suicide at 10 years old to escape the daily abuse. Both Tyler Perry's mother and Emmitt Perry, Sr. are deceased.
Perry, who is now searching for his true father, concluded his talk by encouraging the women in the audience to be honest with their children.
"Some of you have secrets that your kids need to know," he said. "Let the chips fall where they may. For the peace of that person, let them know."
The man that raised Tyler Perry went on to live a very comfortable life after Perry began creating wealth, and to think that this man never opened his mouth to tell him to go and look for his father? And his mother, I'm wondering if the reason that she never said anything was because she was raped or if it was incest, because if it wasn't...she was no better than these women in the streets.
I hope that TP finds his real father soon and that he can be a puzzle piece that helps this man fix the heart break in his life.
What say you about the Tyler Perry "you are not the father" situation?
