Tyler Doohan died after saving some of his family members in an electrical fire that broke out in his grandfather's mobile home in Penfield, New York. On Jan. 21, Mail Online reported that Doohan, 8, helped rescue six of the nine people who were inside the single-wide mobile home when a fire broke out around dinner time on Monday.

"Doohan woke up first and alerted six of his relatives, among them two children, who were able to escape," Mail Online reported. The fourth grader went back into the home to try and help his uncle -- an amputee -- but the blaze was too much and he couldn't get out. The boy's body was found just feet away from his uncle's.

Tyler Doohan was killed along with his grandfather, 57-year-old Louis Beach, his uncle, 54-year-old Steven Smith, and a dog. The family spent the long weekend at Beach's place but their family time ended in tragedy. Now, Tyler is being remembered by his family and friends and the community is calling him a "hero."

"The kid has got more guts than I know of. I mean to run back in there and go through what he went through to try to save his uncle, what can you say for the kid? He was a great kid," said Tyler's other uncle, Joseph Breyette. Breyette said that his nephew didn't think twice when he heard his uncle Steven calling for help.

Tyler Doohan was indeed a brave young man and he will always be remembered as such.

"He was the kind of young man who would bend over backwards for anybody. He was a very caring individual always came to school with a smile on his face. Always asking what can I do to help," said Interim Superintendent of the school that Tyler attended.
