The resurgence of the West Coast movement can certainly be accounted to a few artists this year (Nipsey Hussle, YG, DJ Mustard, Hit-Boy & HS87, and Schoolboy Q), but when one’s to think of the solid material that has been consistently pouring out from the left coast nowadays, one of the most respectable yet promising artists to spring upon the scene has been a clever singer/songwriter by the name of Ty Dolla $ign.
Aside from achieving solo success with his very own collection of hits such as “Paranoid,” and “Or Nah,” (both produced by DJ Mustard) the 29 year-old Cali native has lent his Midas touch to some of the most infectious chart-toppers heard this year, none more notable than the infectious club-smash “Loyal,” which he penned for the now beleaguered superstar Chris Brown.
Of course, with his stock rising and his buzz peeking presently, Ty, who was one of two singers selected to be on the recently released XXL Freshmen cover (which hasn’t been done in all of its existence), takes to the Hollywood Hills and graces the small screen again, now equipped with a video in place for his above-mentioned single, “Or Nah,” with assistance from his Taylor Gang boss-man Wiz Khalifa, and some newly added vocals from Toronto singer, The Weeknd.
With the landscape of the Hollywood Hills serving as the backdrop, the dark visual comes to life, as it showcases some of the finest women L.A. has to offer, also including one obsessed gal who has a rather over-the-top fascination with the dreaded singer. Watch it all unfold above in the sexually-charged Beach House EP single, which is now available on iTunes.
