According to a sponsorship announcement from Richard Childress Racing earlier this week, Ty Dillon will be making the move to the NASCAR Nationwide Series full-time in 2014. An announcement proclaiming D.G. Yuengling & Son as primary sponsor of Dillon for eight races next year, puts Dillon in the No. 3 car. That car is currently driven by his older brother, Austin Dillon. Austin Dillon is expected to make the move to full-time Sprint Cup Series racing next year to drive a No. 3 in that series.
"Ty Dillon is the perfect match for us to help introduce our Light Lager brand to loyal NASCAR fans wherever Yuengling is sold," Yuengling Director of Marketing and Wholesaler Development Lou Romano said. "He's not only a strong competitor on the track, but shares many of the same interests as Yuengling drivers. Ty is an avid sports fan, outdoor enthusiast and holds close family ties."
Dillon is currently in his second year of competition in the Truck Series and has one win, so far, this year. He also won a race in 2012, en route to series Rookie of the Year honors. Dillon also has eight-career starts in the Nationwide Series. So far in Nationwide competition, his stats include a top-five and three top-10 finishes.
