Two women go missing in the French Quarter (Photos)

The disappearance of two women from the same area has the French Quarter on edge on Friday.

Angela Melancon, 38 was last seen at the Felix's Oyster Bar and Restaurant where she works near Boubon and Iberville Street around 12:30 a.m., February 4. Jessica Janai Pratt, 34, from Iowa was last seen leaving the Le Petit Motel on Tulane Avenue on Saturday, February 9.

"It makes me want to go get mace or something heavy to carry around so no one runs up on me or something you know," Dina Perrin a hostess at Felix's Oyster Bar and Restaurant told WWLTV news.

A surveillance video was released showing Jessica checking in at the motel where her belongings were left. Her brother stated that Jessica came to New Orleans Wednesday to work at local clubs for the Mardi Gras weekend.

Curiously a post on WGNO states that "she [Angela Melancon] has notified us by Facebook that she is safe, but doesn't want anyone to know where she is." No confirmation was found to support this statement.
