With Mercy hanging in the middle of our American social conflict, and the religious and experiential fact of our imperfectness, which crucified thief will we choose to emulate in our Catholic faith?
There is no evading this question!
The thief on the left of salvation's horizon is asked what he, or she, will do in the face of millions of aborted souls, thousands of euthanized victims, growing numbers of pseudo marriages, impending religiously mandated persecution, class warfare, and a dying national morality. And he, or she, has historically answered, ' I will vote, not with my religious faith, nor with the counsel of Christ's Church! I will vote merely for worldly convenience and personal economic reasons. I will dare Christ on His Cross to come down and serve me on my worldly standards!'

The thief on the right of salvation's horizon, however, will be asked the very same question. But the response will be radically different, radically counter cultural, radically faithful to both Head and Body of Crucified Mercy in the middle of our social muddle!

For the thief on the right will repentantly seek the Innocent One in the middle, on His terms, while obeying His Catholic Truth hook, line and sinker. In doing so he, or she, will fight for the voiceless unborn, the victim of euthanasia, the dignity of traditional marriage, class solidarity, and the rebirth of morality in goodness, beauty, and Truth, hanging on the Cross, in the very middle of our salvation's history!
